Few places on the planet offer so many wonders in such a small area. In just 51,100 square kilometers, Costa Rica shelters 6% of all biodiversity in the world.
Our country’s geographical location constitutes a biological land bridge for plants and animal species. The narrow territory flanked by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean creates a passage for North and South American plants and wildlife, in addition to a large number of endemic species. Costa Rica’s respect for nature has resulted in over 25% of the land being protected under some sort of management category, such as National Parks, Biological Reserves, and National Wildlife Refuges.
One of the attractions is its climate. The nice temperature enjoyed throughout the year has been a factor in the peaceful life led by inhabitants, and allows tourist to explore and venture with total ease. Additionally, the smallness of the land makes it easy to travel from the Pacific to the Caribbean coast in less than one day.
From northern mountains and plains passing through the North, Central, or South Pacific regions to the Caribbean and the Central Region, the entire country offers the most varied range of choices and entertainments.
